2010 Fall Programs

Congratulations to Dist. 196 (Apple Valley) skier Andy Dodds on being named to the U.S. Ski Team National Elite Group (NEG). "Andy decided to commit 100% to skiing in 2009 and it is already paying dividends in his training and performance" Minnesota Valley Head Coach Reid Lutter commented. The NEG training camp gives Andy a chance to train with the best juniors in the country and with the U.S. Ski Team for a week in the fall.

This is the second year in a row a Minnesota Valley skier will represent the Central division at the U.S. Ski Team National Elite Group Fall Camp Oct. 9 - 17th.

Erik Fagerstrom led the way for Minnesota Valley at the Junior Olympics today. Erik blasted from his 24th place qualifying time to make the B final, winning it easily and placing 7th overall. Lauren Rantala and Andy Dodds both took 12th place in their age groups and Sara Daniels placed 20th. JO's continue all week.

Erik Fagerstrom and the Burnsville girls team both earned State Champion titles. They led a group of eight MN Valley Skiers to earn all-state. Now we get ready for our next challenge: placing in the top ten in ski clubs at JO's! Open up the season with two skate sprints at Theodore Wirth Park, site of the JO's in 2011. 1.5k Sprint on Saturday, .8k sprint on Sunday. The events will take place on December 20th and 21st. The races are Midwest Junior Olympic Qualifiers that are open to CXC Juniors, College, HS/MS, Youth and Citizen racers. Detailed race information posted in the entry form PDF.

Sharmila Ahmed, Jen Rolfes and Hans Nygren all crack the top ten and make All-American in the skate race. Fagerstrom, Rolfes and Berndt named All-Americans in Classic race. Almost every MV skier had a top 30 finish. Congratulations to all the skiers who participated.
